Limited edition art book published by Archive of Modern Conflict, one of the world's largest private archives!

In this book, Timothy Plath selects fragments of old newspaper photographs from the vast newspaper archives of the English provincial city of Luton and compiles a fictional narrative world. The everyday lives of the working class, crowds on street corners, small celebrations, the interplay of silence and hustle and bustle... The visuals, where fact and imagination, memory and fiction overlap, evoke a somewhat unsettling nostalgia. This book was co-published with RVB Books, a publisher established in Paris in 2011 that specializes in art books.

Drawing from an enormous archive of local newspapers from the British town of Luton, Timothy Prus selects fragments of old press photographs and weaves them into an imagined narrative world. Scenes of working-class life, crowds on street corners, modest celebrations, and the interplay of stillness and mumbling bustle… The visuals—where fact and invention, memory and fiction shimmer and overlap—evoke a disquieting sense of nostalgia. Co-published with RVB Books, the Paris-based art book publisher founded in 2011.
